Jamshid Abdurakhimov noted that these projects are implemented with participation of companies from Korea, Singapore, China, United Arab Emirates, Oman and India.
It is envisaged that over 1,500 people will work in these high-technological enterprises. These companies will produce goods for US$800 million a year, half of which will be exported, he added.
Abdurakhimov said that production of export-oriented products such as digital tuners for TV-sets, automobile wires, polymeric pipes, fresh and processed fruit and vegetable products, cosmetic goods and others were launched within seven projects from September 2010.
Navoi free industrial-economic zone was founded in December 2008 in accordance with the President’s decree to create favorable conditions for attracting foreign investments to Uzbekistan, create modern highly technological enterprises and develop the country’s industrial potential and industrial, transport and social infrastructure.
