Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In January-June 2024, 116,600 people arrived in Uzbekistan, including 50.7 thousand men and 65.9 thousand women. According to the Uzbekistan Statistics Agency, 87.0 thousand people settled in urban areas, and 29.6 thousand in rural areas.

The age distribution among the arrivals is as follows: 10.8% are younger than working age, 81.7% are of working age, and 7.5% are older than working age.

Most of the people who arrived to permanently reside in Uzbekistan came from the Russian Federation (36.1%) and Kazakhstan (24.1%). From Tajikistan, 10.7% of people arrived, from Kyrgyzstan – 7.2%, from Turkmenistan – 2.0%, and from other countries – 19.9%.

The highest number of arrivals was recorded in Tashkent (29.3 per mille), Navoi region (11.0 per mille), and Tashkent region (10.2 per mille). The lowest number was in Namangan region (1.1 per mille), Andijan region (2.1 per mille), and Ferghana region (2.6 per mille).

The largest share of immigrants was in Tashkent (38.2%), Tashkent region (13.3%), Samarkand region (6.1%), Navoi region (5.1%), and Kashkadarya region (4.9%). The smallest share of immigrants was recorded in Namangan region (1.4%), Jizzakh region (2.8%), Syrdarya region (3.1%), Andijan region (3.1%), and Bukhara region (3.7%).

During the same period, January-June 2024, the number of people who left Uzbekistan was 120.6 thousand, including 52.8 thousand men and 67.8 thousand women. From cities, 83.9 thousand people left, and from rural areas – 36.7 thousand.

The age distribution among those who left is as follows: 11.2% were younger than working age, 81.0% were of working age, and 7.8% were older than working age.

Most of the people who left Uzbekistan for permanent residence abroad went to Kazakhstan (81.5%). Next were the Russian Federation (15.0%), Kyrgyzstan (0.7%), South Korea (0.7%), Turkmenistan (0.3%), and other countries (1.8%).

The highest level of departures was recorded in Tashkent (23.4 per mille), Navoi region (11.8 per mille), and Tashkent region (9.1 per mille). The lowest level was in Namangan region (1.8 per mille), Andijan region (2.6 per mille), and Ferghana region (3.2 per mille).

The largest share of emigrants was in Tashkent (29.5%), Tashkent region (11.5%), Kashkadarya region (7.3%), Samarkand region (6.7%), and the Republic of Karakalpakstan (6.0%). The smallest share of emigrants was recorded in Namangan region (2.2%), Syrdarya region (3.2%), Jizzakh region (3.7%), Andijan region (3.7%), and Bukhara region (5.0%).
