Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- About 1 million citizens to take part in New Year’s celebrations across Uzbekistan. According to information received at a briefing from the head of the information service of the Department of Public Security of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Muzifa Sultanova, New Year events are planned to be held at 250 facilities.

A large number of personnel are mobilized to ensure security at these events. A total of 11,401 employees of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, 3,698 employees of the National Guard and 1,835 military personnel of the Federal Aerospace Defense are deployed to maintain order and the safety of citizens. They were provided with communications equipment and vehicles, as well as security equipment such as metal detectors and sniffer dogs.

To ensure even greater security, video cameras were installed around the venues of festive events, and they were also integrated with monitoring centers. In addition, for the temporary detention of lost young children at events, separate premises have been installed, where there are inspector-psychologists.

Measures have also been taken to accommodate persons without permanent residence in the House of Mercy and a rehabilitation center in order to stock up on social support measures during the holidays.

Special controls and enhanced measures have been taken in stores selling alcoholic beverages to prevent the illegal sale of handcrafted undrinkable alcoholic beverages.

A number of measures were also taken to improve the road and transport infrastructure around the venues of festive events and to organize sufficient parking capacity for vehicles.

Thus, law enforcement agencies are ready to ensure safety and order at New Year’s holiday events so that citizens can enjoy the holidays safely and calmly. It is expected that a huge number of people, amounting to about 1 million citizens, will take part in these events.
