Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ecological Party of Uzbekistan has approved its leader Abdushukur Khamzaev as a candidate for the upcoming presidential elections, UzA reports.

An extraordinary 4th congress of the party was held in Tashkent, at which Khamzaev’s candidacy and his election program were approved.

On 8 May, Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced the holding of early presidential elections in Uzbekistan, which will be held on July 9.

In addition to the Ecological Party, the People’s Democratic Party (Ulugbek Inoyatov) and the Social Democratic Party "Adolat" (Roba Makhmudova) and UzLiDeP (Shavkat Mirziyoyev) approved their candidates.
