Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Abdullo Egamberdiev, who was seeking to establish himself as a criminal authority, has been detained by law enforcement agencies in Ferghana region.

According to information from the regional police department, Egamberdiev had connections with known criminal elements, Salimbay and Bakhti Tashkent.

Investigators allege that the 34-year-old Egamberdiev, residing in the Kushtepa district, is involved in fraud and bribery. He has previously been convicted of robbery.

A criminal case has been initiated against the detainee under articles 168 (large-scale fraud by prior conspiracy of a group of individuals) and 211 (bribery) with reference to article 28 (types of complicity in crime) of the Criminal Code.

Law enforcement agencies are conducting further investigation.
