Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan for Foreign Policy Abdulaziz Kamilov is on a visit to Brussels, Dunyo news agency reports.

During the visit, he met with the Director for Political Coordination and Management of the Executive Office of the President of the European Commission, Jivka Petkova.

The prospects for Uzbek-European relations and the development of practical cooperation in the regional context were discussed at the meeting. The parties expressed interest in signing the Enhanced Partnership and Cooperation Agreement between Uzbekistan and the EU.

Jivka Petkova highly appreciated the efforts of the Uzbek side in combating climate change and mitigating its negative consequences. Support was expressed for Uzbekistan’s initiative to hold the International Climate Forum this year in Samarkand.

Uzbekistan’s initiatives in the fight against climate change, cooperation in the field of important raw materials and the schedule of upcoming joint events were also discussed.
