Abdukhamidullo Rasulov named AFC Assistant Referee of the Year
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Abdukhamidullo Rasulov of Uzbekistan has been named the AFC Assistant Referee of the Year ahead of the Japanese duo of Toshiyuki Nagi and Toru Sagara.

The award is given to the official that has accumulated the most points based on their performances at AFC and FIFA matches.

Rasulov participated in numerous tournaments throughout the year which included assisting Ravshan Irmatov in the final of the AFC Asian Cup final in January and he again worked alongside his fellow Uzbek official ten months later in the deciding match of the AFC Champions League.

The 35-year-old from Tashkent also assisted in matches in 2014 FIFA World Cup qualifying rounds two and three and the third round of qualifiers for the 2012 Olympic Games.

After receiving his award from AFC Executive Committee Member and Deputy Chairman of the AFC Referees' Committee Sayyid Khalid Hamid Al Busaidi, Rasulov said:

"This award is the first such award in my life and is a big achievement for me. This award is a prize for all my hard work, sweat and sacrifice.

"I'm really happy to have won it and will share it with my colleagues back home."
