Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Uzbekistan national team and CSKA Moscow midfielder Abbosbek Fayzullayev has been named the Best Footballer of the Year by the Uzbekistan Football Association.
The award ceremony took place on 14 December in Tashkent, where the best footballers and coaches of 2024 were also determined based on a poll among journalists.
Timur Kapadze, head coach of the Uzbekistan U-23 national team, was honored with the title of "Best Coach of the Year." Under his leadership, the Uzbekistan Olympic team secured its first-ever qualification for the Olympic Games, marking a historic achievement.
Muhammadyusuf Sobirov was named Best Young Footballer of the Year. Diora Khabibullaeva, captain of the Uzbekistan women’s national team, was recognized as the Best Female Footballer of the Year.
Vladislav Khan, coach of the Sevinch team, which won the championship, was named "Best Coach of the Year."
Meanwhile, Maftuna Shoimova, a leading player for Sevinch, was awarded "Best Female Footballer of the Women’s Premier League," and Lyudmila Karachik, the top scorer of the women’s league with 41 goals in the season, was also honored.
In futsal, Nodir Eliboev, coach of the Uzbekistan futsal team, was named Best Coach of the Year for leading his team to both the championship and the Uzbekistan Cup.
Bobur Abdurakhmonov, coach of the Pakhtakor Academy, received the "Best Youth Football Coach of the Year" award for preparing eight players for the national youth team.
The "Best Female Referee of the Year" award went to Gulshoda Saidkulova for her active involvement in international matches and for officiating the final of the Uzbekistan Cup. The title of "Best Referee of the Year" was awarded to Ilgiz Tantashev, who officiated international games, including four Olympic matches in Paris and the UEFA Champions League final.
