Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A 23-year-old woman set herself on fire on 7 March in Jalakuduk district of Andijan region. This was reported by the General Prosecutor’s Office of Uzbekistan.

A resident of the Birshagan mahalla, A.R., doused herself with gasoline and set herself on fire. People who were nearby tried to save the woman.

Despite the medical assistance provided, the woman died in the hospital.

An investigation is underway. A forensic medical examination has been ordered.

A criminal case has been initiated under the first part of Article 103 (incitement to suicide) of the Criminal Code of Uzbekistan.
