Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Currently, the use of risk-based banking supervision approaches is a priority in the field of regulation and supervision of the banking system in international practice.

In the framework of ADB technical assistance, on 5 October, with the participation of ADB international expert G. Gegenheimer, a training seminar was held for employees of structural units of the Central Bank on the topic “Banking based on risk”.

The seminar examined in detail the main banking risks (credit risk, liquidity risk, operational risk, market risk (including interest, currency, price), country risk, compliance risk and reputational risk), as well as general concepts, differences, advantages and disadvantages two main approaches to control the banking system: “Rule-based supervision” and “Risk control”.

The seminar also thoroughly considered the experience and practice of developed countries. The implementation of this banking system control system will ensure the following:

- assess the stability of the bank in relation to present and future risks;

- assess the ability of the regulator to meet the requirements established by the regulator in the course of banking activities, through stress tests;

- overcome problems, at the first appearance of the first signs.
