A training seminar was held for managers of protected natural areas

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 May, a training seminar on the topic “Improving the professional skills of managers of protected natural areas in the field of management and development” was held in Bostanlyk district of Tashkent region.

The training was conducted within the framework of the joint project of the Global Environment Facility, UNDP and the Ministry of Environment “Conservation and sustainable management of lakes, wetlands and coastal corridors as the basis for a sustainable landscape of the Aral Sea basin that is not subject to land degradation and supports sustainable livelihoods” (Aral Wetlands project).

The event was attended by specialists from the Ministry of Ecology, as well as representatives of protected natural areas of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, Bukhara, Khorezm and Navoi regions.

As part of the training, up-to-date information on ensuring the management of protected natural areas, implementing security measures and regime control was presented.

In addition, there was an exchange of views and experience on the implementation of research activities and the use of the latest information technologies, the organization and development of ecotourism, environmental education activities in protected natural areas.

The main goal of the event was to improve the professional management skills of managers of environmental areas in the field of management and improvement of the activities of protected natural areas in the main areas.
