Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4-7 March, a national training on countering the use of new technologies for terrorist purposes was held in Tashkent at the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was aimed at familiarizing Uzbek specialists with best practices, modern methods and practices in this area, as well as developing national measures and recommendations to prevent relevant risks and threats.

The training took place within the framework of the “Road Map” for the implementation of proposals and initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev on the sidelines of the Tashkent High-Level Conference on the implementation of the UN Global Counter-Terrorism Strategy in Central Asia on 3-4 March 2022.

The seminar was organized by the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism, the Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy in Central Asia, the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the State Security Service of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It is attended by representatives of law enforcement and judicial authorities, experts in the field of cybersecurity, and analytical structures.

The four-day training featured presentations by leading cybersecurity experts from the Counter-Terrorism Center and the UN Office of Counter-Terrorism.
