A system of photo and video messages about violations in the fuel and energy industry to be introduced in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree “On improving the mechanisms of state control and introducing the "digital energy control" system in the fuel and energy industry” was adopted.

According to the Decree, an automated system for monitoring and accounting for the use of electricity and natural gas will be fully implemented, a new system for preventing and eliminating cases of theft of fuel and energy resources will be introduced.

From 1 September 2023:

- photo and video materials about offenses related to violation of the rules for the use of electricity, heat and gas, sent by citizens to the special information system of the Ministry of Energy on the Internet, are considered in the prescribed manner;

- persons who sent photo and video materials about offenses are encouraged with a monetary reward;

- identification of offenders on photo and video materials sent on the facts of offenses is carried out by the internal affairs bodies at the request of the territorial bodies of the Ministry of Energy.

Disclosure of information about persons who submitted photo and video materials about the facts of offenses is not allowed.

In the event of discovery of facts of a violation of the law or damage to the rights and freedoms of citizens protected by law, the interests of society and the state, the prosecution authorities make demands for the immediate elimination of violations of the law to state bodies and their officials.

Also, the Energy Control platform and a pilot version of its mobile application in the Kashkadarya region will be introduced into the activities of the Uzenergoinspektsiya as an experiment by 1 March 2024, the full version by 1 October 2024.
