Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On measures to introduce a system of green energy certificates" was adopted.

In accordance with the Resolution, a system of "green energy" certificates is being gradually introduced, confirming the generation of electricity using renewable energy sources:

- from 1 July 2023 - for electricity generated at hydroelectric power plants of the JSC "Uzbekhydroenergo" system;

- from 1 October 2023 - for electricity generated by solar, wind and hydroelectric power plants.

One green energy certificate confirms the generation of 1,000 kWh of electricity.

The Green Energy certificate system is maintained by the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The income of generating facilities received from the sale of green energy certificates based on the use of renewable energy sources is exempt from income tax.
