Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13 February 2023, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan Ulugbek Azamov and the director of the New Silk Road Product Center at Shaanxi Tourism Group Han Zhongfeng and representatives of the Zhejang Loong Airlines.

For information, "Shaanxi Tourism Group Co., Ltd" is a state-owned investment and operating organization founded and authorized by the government of Shaanxi Province (China) in 1998. The company’s activities are aimed at developing the tourism industry, in particular tourism services, tourist and cultural centers, technological support and investment in tourism.

In 2022, the organization received about 210 million tourists. The company has more than 100 holdings and joint stock companies, as well as more than 10,000 employees and total assets of US$5.8 billion.

It should be noted that the meeting discussed the issues of increasing the tourist flow from China to the historical cities of Uzbekistan, developing a special joint tourist route, promoting the tourism potential of the country’s regions in China, implementing regular and charter flights between the tourist cities of the two states in the shortest possible time, as well as studying the experience China for the development of domestic tourism.

In turn, the Chinese side positively assessed the activities of the Uzbek-Chinese Tourism Development Association, which plays an important role in the development of bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism.

In addition, the parties confirmed the need to open representative offices in Uzbekistan and China in order to enhance the promotion of the tourism potential of the two states.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to speed up the resolution of the issue of opening travel agencies, conducting info tours for Shaanxi Tourism Group specialists in historical cities with tourist infrastructure, such as Tashkent, Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva.
