A round table with representatives of German business circles was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 November, as part of the visit of the German Federal Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock to Uzbekistan, a round table was held at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry with the participation of representatives of German business circles from among the country’s largest and most advanced enterprises. This was reported by the press service of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, Deputy Chairman of the CCI Jahongir Mamazhanov, representatives of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Construction of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The German side was attended by Head of the Foreign Policy Department for Climate, Economics and Technology of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Germany Oliver Renchler, Head of the Department of Economic Diplomacy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Hulger Kremer, Executive Director of the Eastern Committee of the German Economy Michael Harms, Executive Director of the Representative Office of the German Economy in Central Asia Hovsep Vokakyan, as well as representatives of large companies in the field of construction, logistics and energy.

The purpose of this event was to familiarize the delegation with the current state of the country’s economic development and the main directions for the further development of Uzbek-German cooperation.

Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry Davron Vakhabov noted that at the end of 2021, the trade turnover between our countries amounted to US$762 million. He also mentioned that 201 enterprises operate in Uzbekistan with the participation of investors from Germany, including 67 enterprises with 100% German capital and representative offices of 31 firms and companies.

It should be noted that the Chamber attaches particular importance to and actively cooperates with various German organizations and companies, including the Educational Center for Saxon Economics - BSW, the German Organization for International Cooperation - GIZ, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the Representative Office of the German Economy in Central Asia - AHK, organizations " SEKUA", "ADELFI" and many others.

Cooperation with these organizations helps to establish contacts between the business circles of Uzbekistan and Germany on an ongoing basis, as well as to study advanced German experience in various areas of activity and successfully adapt it to the conditions of Uzbekistan.

The key topics of the event were the issues of strengthening bilateral ties in the field of energy, construction, transport and logistics, and during the round table issues were discussed between the business communities of the two countries, as a decisive factor in the further development of investment and trade and economic relations between the countries.
