A regular meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia was held in Astana

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, in Astana, with the support of the UN and the National Commission for Women, Family and Demographic Policy under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, a meeting of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia on the topic "The role of women in the development of innovations and technologies" was held.

In 2023, Kazakhstan chairs this regional platform, whose activities are aimed at holding mutual consultations, exchange of views and practical cooperation between women leaders of Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan on topical issues relating to women.

The Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva, Speaker of the Parliament of Kazakhstan, deputies of Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan, heads of state bodies, as well as representatives of non-governmental and international organizations, the diplomatic corps took part in its work.

Digitalization is one of the priorities of Kazakhstan’s chairmanship in the Dialogue of Women of Central Asia as a new and effective means of broadly involving women in socio-economic relations.

In her speech, the Chairperson of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis emphasized that with the creation of the “Dialogue of Women of Central Asian Countries” platform in 2020, large-scale work is being consistently carried out in our countries to ensure the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of women, strengthening their role in the life of society and the state: “ Today, dialogue has taken its place in Central Asia and has received due support from the world community. During the period of its operation, this unique platform adopted important documents and held major events that had a great impact on the implementation of effective measures at the regional level. We assess this as a manifestation of the great interest of the countries of the region in the further development of the Dialogue, increasing its effectiveness and authority in the international arena.”

During the event, the participants expressed their views on uniting the efforts of active, business women, academic and scientific circles, the non-governmental and civil sector of the countries of the Central Asian region, expanding cooperation on topical issues of demographic development, gender equality, implementing projects in the field of tourism development, culture, cooperation in the field of ecology, development of trade, including digital technologies.

As a result of the session, the Action Plan of the Dialogue of Women Leaders of Central Asia for 2023 was adopted.

In the session “Best practices in the field of innovation and technology development with the participation of women”, successful innovative projects were presented that reveal the role of women in the development of new technologies and startups of women in the Central Asian region. During the session, the participants also discussed digital projects aimed at the development of women’s startups, artificial intelligence, digitalization in rural areas, as well as developments aimed at solving topical issues of family and society, women’s entrepreneurship, vocational education and employment.
