Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 8 April 2022, the task was set to implement a project for the construction of student dormitories for higher educational institutions on the terms of a public-private partnership with the participation of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

In order to ensure the implementation of the project for the construction of student dormitories for 18,000 places, on 17 January, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation with the participation of the head of the public-private partnership consulting department of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, deputy director Marcos Martinez Garcia, as well as the head company Rebel Group International bv, attracted as part of the project, Rolf Dauskardt.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation Sarvarkhon Buzrukhonov and representatives of the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

During the meeting, a report on the work done to develop project documentation for the construction of student dormitories under public-private partnership conditions was discussed.

Also, Deputy Minister S. Buzrukhonov emphasized the relevance of this project, based on the need for student dormitories, specific tasks have been identified to speed up this work.
