A number of embassies of Uzbekistan will introduce the position of adviser on transport issues

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On measures for the effective organization of public administration in the field of transport within the framework of administrative reforms" was adopted.

According to the Decree, the following were created in the structure of the Ministry of Transport:

- Inspectorate for supervision in the field of transport;

- Institute for retraining and advanced training of personnel in the field of transport;

- Interdepartmental Council for the Development of the Transit Potential of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Inspectorate for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport is a republican executive body that exercises supervision functions in the areas of automobile, railway, water, electric transport, subway and road facilities.

The Inspectorate for Supervision in the Sphere of Transport for the performance of the tasks assigned to it is granted the following powers:

consideration of cases of administrative offenses in the field of road freight and passenger transportation, railway, water, electric transport, subway and road facilities and the application of administrative penalties;

stopping motor vehicles for inspection at stationary and mobile posts for the control of freight and passenger traffic in case of violations of the rules for the transport of goods and passengers on motor vehicles using visual observation or special devices.

The embassies of Uzbekistan in the People’s Republic of China, the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Republic of Azerbaijan, the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Republic of Latvia will introduce the position of an adviser on transport issues.

Until 1 September 2023, a draft resolution will be developed on the implementation of the rating of carriers in order to improve the quality of transportation and increase the attractiveness of services, as well as the formation of a healthy competitive environment in the field of public transport.
