Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Construction has begun on a railway line in the Samarkand region that will connect Jambay district with Urgut, according to the UzA news agency.

The project is being implemented in accordance with the general plan of "Toshtemiryulloyiha." The total length of the railway line will exceed 50 kilometers.

The route will pass through densely populated areas in the districts of Jambay, Samarkand, Taylak, and Urgut, where new railway stations will be built.

Additionally, the railway will run near the "Jartepa" customs post on the Uzbekistan-Tajikistan border.
