A new power plant to be put into operation in Syrdarya region

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A new gas-piston thermal power plant with a capacity of 220 MW is being built by the Turkish company Chengiz Energy in Khavast district of Syrdarya region.

Construction and installation works have been completed at the facility, commissioning and commissioning are underway. Today, on 9 October, the first gas piston units of the power plant were successfully tested.

In two weeks, the station will be connected to the unified power grid of Uzbekistan and will start transmitting electricity.

The power plant is capable of producing 1.7 billion kWh of electricity per year.

On 29 March 2022, the Presidents of Uzbekistan and Turkey launched the construction of this power plant.
