Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 1 March, the Ministry of Culture hosted a press conference with the participation of the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov, dedicated to the presentation of a new collection of traditional music.
New Vision - Treasures of Maqom and Uzbek Traditional Music (and this is the name of the project) is a collection of treasures of maqom and Uzbek traditional music, in new arrangements of the People's Artist of Uzbekistan Abdukhoshim Ismailov, performed by the Yunus Rajabiy ensemble "Makom".
The album includes 15 compositions recorded according to European standards, which provides them with a special purity of sound. The well-known musician Kamran Tuychiev was the sound producer of the project, and Ruslan Saliev was the executive producer.
Work on the project lasted more than three months, its goal was to present to listeners all over the world a new look at the classical and folk masterpieces of Uzbek music, to increase the recognition of the genre for listeners of Uzbekistan and far beyond its borders.
The legends of the genre took part in the recording: Munojat Yulchieva, Nodira Pirmatova, Hasan Rajabiy; maqom stars: Furkat Ashuraliev, Elmurad Akhmedov, Sardorbek Gafurov, Muminjon Sadriddinov, Kamoliddin Alimakhsumov and others.
