A new gas condensate field "Kultak" of the terrigenous Jurassic was discovered in Kashkadarya

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At present, with the involvement of foreign consultants and experts, work is underway to identify new deposits and additional reserves in Ustyurt region, Kashkadarya and Bukhara regions.

In particular, as a result of research conducted jointly with Uzbekneftegaz and the Ministry of Mining and Geology, the oil and gas prospects of the Kultak terrigenous-Jurassic field located in Kashkadarya region were revised.

As part of the exploration work of Uzbekneftegaz, as a result of drilling a new well No. 1 at the terrigenous-Jurassic field "Kultak", natural gas was obtained from a depth of more than 3,000 meters and a new gas condensate field called "Kultak" of the terrigenous Jura was discovered.

Currently, the initial daily volume of products extracted from the bowels is 100,000 cubic meters of natural gas, and preparations for production are being completed.

Also, in order to expand the promising territories of this new field and increase its natural gas reserves, Uzbekneftegaz is preparing to drill well No. 2.

This achievement, achieved at the beginning of 2023, is the result of measures taken by the Uzbekneftegaz team together with a number of Ministries and departments of the republic, as well as local specialists and foreign experts.

Natural gas produced from the terrigenous-Jurassic well "Kultak" will primarily be used to supply the population and sectors of the economy of the republic.

Uzbekneftegaz continues large-scale geological exploration of oil and gas, aimed at discovering new fields.
