A new batch of drugs against hepatitis C was delivered from Egypt

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The fourth batch of the drug Sofosbuvir-400mg against hepatitis C from Egypt, with a volume of 6,720 units, was delivered to Tashkent.

An agreement was reached with the Egyptian government on the transfer until 2025 of a total volume of 800 thousand units (approximately 40 tons) of the drugs Daclatasvir and Sofosbuvir against hepatitis C, as well as Entecavir against hepatitis B for a total amount of US$4.2 million.

During 2023, part of these drugs, worth a total of US$696,000, was gradually sent to Uzbekistan.

On 10 February, Uzbekistan Airways for the fourth time in 2024 delivered the anti-hepatitis drug Sofosbuvir-400mg, allocated by the Egyptian government as part of humanitarian aid, from Sharm el-Sheikh to Tashkent.

A total of 6,720 units of the drug Sofosbuvir-400mg in 12 boxes will be given to patients at the Research Institute of Virology of the Ministry of Health of Uzbekistan.

This humanitarian action is carried out in accordance with the agreements reached during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Egypt on 20-21 February 2023. This humanitarian aid is aimed at supporting hepatitis patients and providing treatment at state expense.
