Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers “On approval of the National Green Taxonomy” was adopted, Norma reports.

In accordance with the Action Plan for the transition to a “green” economy and ensuring “green” growth in the Republic of Uzbekistan until 2030, the development of a National “green” taxonomy for classifying “green” is provided types of activities.

The document approved the National Taxonomy of the “Green” Economy, which stipulates the definition of categories of the main directions of this area and the assessment of compliance criteria based on the classification of “green” activities. The executive body responsible for its implementation is the Ministry of Economy and Finance.

Until 1 October 2024:

classification of green projects financed by green bonds and loans is carried out on an experimental basis using the National Green Economy Taxonomy;

investment costs of all business entities using financial state support, including private and public business associations, are classified on the basis of the National Green Economic Taxonomy.

The taxonomy of “green” projects is a system for classifying types of economic activities, projects and assets that contribute to sustainable development, and is aimed at increasing the efficiency of use of natural resources, reducing the level of negative impact on the environment and increasing energy savings.
