A memorandum was signed between the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan and the Muslim Federation of South Korea

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan Mufti Sheikh Nuriddin Khaliknazar is on a visit to South Korea, Dunyo news agency reports.

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the President of the Muslim Federation of South Korea, Hwang Byung Ha-Ahmad, and the Chief Imam of the Muslim community of South Korea, Lee Ju Hwa-Abdurahman Lee.

The President of the Muslim Federation of South Korea, welcoming the visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan, emphasized the role of our country in the development of Islamic civilization. According to him, the legacy of the great ancestors of the Uzbek people Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi and others, as well as the historical cities of Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva are widely known in the Muslim world, and holy places attract pilgrims from different parts of the world.

It was noted that cooperation between our countries is progressively and dynamically developing, relations between religious departments have been established; during the month of Ramadan, a group of Uzbek religious figures held educational conversations with local residents and Uzbeks at events in the South Korean cities of Seoul, Kojodo, Gimhae, Cheongju and Mokpo. They spoke about the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years, including in the field of religion and education.

As a result of the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Muslim Office of Uzbekistan and the Muslim Federation of South Korea, which will serve as the basis for further development of cooperation.

According to the documents, the parties will strengthen interaction in the religious sphere, religious education, exchange experiences and hold joint conferences. In addition, opportunities will be created in South Korea to organize educational talks by Uzbek imams in mosques in areas where many Uzbeks live.
