Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the 7th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Türkiye, a delegation led by Deputy Chairman of the Competition Committee Farrukh Karabaev met with the head of the Antimonopoly Authority of Türkiye, Birol Küle.

At the meetings held on 25-26 December, cooperation in the field of competition and antimonopoly policy and its further improvement, the use of scientific research in the analysis of commodity and financial markets were discussed, and issues of conducting a joint analysis in the field of assessing the cross-border impact of agreements were discussed on economic concentration on competition.

Also, the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding and Cooperation between the Competition Committee and the Antimonopoly Authority of Türkiye was one of the big steps for mutual cooperation in this area.

However, during the meetings it was decided:

to hold a meeting of the competition authorities of the member states on the issue of creating a Competition Council of Turkic States within the framework of the Organization of Turkic States;

approval of the Roadmap for mutual cooperation and exchange of experience for 2024-2025 to ensure the implementation of the Memorandum signed between the Competition Committee and the Antimonopoly Authority of Türkiye;

organize the participation of Committee employees in trainings organized by the Antimonopoly Authority of Türkiye, and the corresponding organizational work is determined.
