A memorandum of understanding was signed with Israel to attract innovative technologies to the agricultural sector of Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On the sidelines of the international conference on food security, taking place these days in Samarkand, a meeting was held between the ministers of agriculture of Uzbekistan and Israel.

Minister of Agriculture of Uzbekistan Aziz Voitov, receiving his Israeli colleague, noted that agriculture occupies a special place in the close economic cooperation between our countries.

In particular, he noted that studying Israel’s experience in the development of agriculture, the introduction of modern agricultural technologies and their use in Uzbekistan will have a good effect.

Israeli Minister of Agriculture Avi Dichter, thanking the Uzbek side for the invitation, emphasized that the Samarkand conference is being held at a high organizational level, and expressed confidence that the meetings and exchange of views held within the framework of the forum will certainly be fruitful.

Aziz Voitov also outlined the need to introduce Israeli technologies in grain production and accelerate work in this direction. In addition, proposals were made for the exchange of experience in terms of rational use of water and the introduction of water-saving technologies. Following the meeting, a memorandum of understanding was signed on the use of innovative technologies in agriculture.

Also within the framework of the International Conference, Minister of Agriculture Aziz Voitov held meetings with the ministers of agriculture of a number of countries, such as Bangladesh, Mongolia, Turkey, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. At the meetings, prospects for cooperation in the agricultural sector, the introduction of innovative technologies in the industry and the exchange of mutual experience in the production of safe food products were discussed.
