Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Within the framework of the 25th Tashkent International Tourism Fair "Tourism on the Silk Road", a meeting was held between representatives of the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the National PR Center and the Development Center at the Uzexpocenter International Business Center tourism of Sverdlovsk region - the main organizer of the largest tourism event in Russia - the International Tourism Forum "Big Ural".
In the spring of this year, on 25 and 26 April at the Presidential Center of Boris Yeltsin in Yekaterinburg, the VII International Tourism Forum "Big Urals" was held, in which Uzbekistan presented its national stand. At the initiative of the organizers, Uzbekistan is a partner country of the Big Ural-2019 International Forum. In honor of the opening of the Yekaterinburg Arena stadium in the VIP area, a festive reception was held, within the framework of which, the Consulate General of Uzbekistan together with the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Tourism Development organized an exposition demonstrating folk-applied art and masterpieces of Uzbek national cuisine.
At the meeting, in the framework of TITF in Tashkent, representatives of the Tourism Development Center of the Sverdlovsk Region made a presentation about the tourism potential of the unique Russian region. So, the director of the Center Elmira Tukanova conducted a short excursion into the history of the region, spoke about the main tourist attractions of the cities of the Sverdlovsk region.
“The purpose of our trip to Uzbekistan is not only the signing of a bilateral agreement and the presentation of the tourism opportunities of our region, but also the assessment of the opportunities of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair for touring companies of the Sverdlovsk region with their booth next year,” said Elmira Tukanova.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of Russian and Uzbek travel companies.
At the end of the meeting, an agreement was signed between the Tourism Development Center of the Sverdlovsk Region and the National PR Center under the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
In accordance with the agreement, the parties agreed to create a joint Roadmap for the implementation of further cooperation between the two organizations in the field of promoting tourism potential.
