A meeting with the director of the KOICA office in Uzbekistan was held at the Agency for Preschool Education

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 4 April 2023, the First Deputy Minister of Preschool and School Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Director of the Agency for Preschool Education Agrippina Shin met with the Director of the KOICA office in Uzbekistan, Ms. Park Sunjin, at the Agency for Preschool Education.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects for cooperation in the field of preschool education, as well as a wide range of issues related to the implementation of a joint project aimed at the construction of a Comprehensive Center for the Training, Education and Development of Teachers and an Innovative Preschool Educational Organization in Tashkent.

In her opening speech, the head of the Korean delegation praised the large-scale reforms carried out in recent years in the Republic of Uzbekistan, including in the field of early childhood development, which are being implemented under the leadership and close attention of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It was noted that the Korean side is committed to building capacity in promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in the field of preschool education.

Along with this, Ms. Park Sunjin stressed that the KOICA office in Uzbekistan is open to expanding dialogue and areas of interaction within the framework of the ongoing project, including through the introduction of new components aimed at improving the quality of preschool education and developing the professional competencies of the teacher.

The parties agreed that the Comprehensive Center for the Training, Education and Development of Teachers and the Innovative Preschool Educational Organization being built within the framework of the joint project will become another tool for adapting and introducing advanced foreign experience into the system of preschool education of the republic and further improving the system of preschool education as an important link unified system of continuous education.

According to the Director of the KOICA office in Uzbekistan, the successful activities of the Agency to increase the number of non-governmental preschool educational organizations deserve special attention. In this context, a representative of an international non-governmental organization expressed readiness to provide the Uzbek side with all kinds of assistance in the development of this direction.

As a result of the negotiations, the parties reached an agreement to continue joint work in the development of the system of preschool education of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the need to accelerate the process of implementing a project aimed at building a Comprehensive Center for the preparation, training and development of teaching staff and an Innovative preschool educational organization in Tashkent.
