A meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Finance of Japan Taro Aso takes place

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 16 December, in Tokyo, on the eve of the visit of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Japan, a meeting was held between Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov and Japanese Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Taro Aso.

During the meeting, current issues of preparation for the top-level visit and related events were discussed - according to T. Aso, the event will become a powerful incentive for the development of a multifaceted partnership between the two countries.

The results of intensive work aimed at strengthening bilateral institutional cooperation and rapprochement of business circles of the two countries, carried out over the past few months, were also examined.

It was noted that the systematic approach used in coordinating the joint actions of ministries, departments and companies during the negotiation processes allowed us to achieve tangible results in a short time and significantly expand the scope of intercountry cooperation. Proof of this is the number of agreements reached on the implementation of major investment projects and trade agreements, the relevant documents on which it is planned to sign during the upcoming Uzbek-Japanese business forum.

Sardor Umurzakov also expressed gratitude to the Government of Japan for the assistance provided in the framework of Official Development Assistance (ODA), noting that over the years of fruitful cooperation in Uzbekistan, a number of socially significant and infrastructure projects have been implemented in the fields of energy, transport, telecommunications, education and health .

The parties expressed their intention to adhere to the set pace in the further development of cooperation by establishing close intergovernmental cooperation and holding regular meetings to monitor the progress made, and discussing new promising initiatives for study and implementation.
