Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 12 February 2020, the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan held a meeting with representatives of PROPARCO at the French Development Agency (Agence Frangaise de Développement, AFD).

During the meeting, the parties discussed the current situation in the banking sector, in particular, the introduction of regulations governing the activities of banking and non-bank credit organizations and the standards of the Basel Committee were examined.

The meeting also considered planned changes in the regulation of banks and issues related to monitoring their activities and the privatization of banks, including changes in the field of prudential supervision and risk management.

In addition, PROPARCO expressed its readiness to expand services and financial instruments for private banks in Uzbekistan as part of risk sharing programs, maintaining their growth, and financing small and medium enterprises.
