Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 September, a meeting was held between the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Budget and Economic Reforms E. Gadoev and the World Bank Manager for Governance and Financial Management Adrian Fozzard.

During the meeting, issues related to the reform of public administration in Uzbekistan and the support provided by the World Bank in the field of public financial management and parliamentary control over the expenditure of state budget funds were discussed.

In particular, A. Fozzard was informed about the Initiative Budget, which has been ongoing in our republic since 2021, ensuring openness and transparency in these processes, as well as public control and parliamentary control carried out by the Senate.

During the meeting, attention was also paid to the work carried out by the Senate on target budgeting, the budget process, as well as the consideration and discussion of the annual Law “On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.

In turn, representatives of the World Bank positively assessed the ongoing work on the openness of the State budget and expressed their readiness to provide assistance in this matter, as well as in attracting qualified specialists from countries with advanced experience.
