Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the National Agency for Prospective Projects with a delegation headed by the General Director for North Africa and Central Asia of Citigroup, Mr. Omar Hafiz, the purpose of which was to consider opportunities for expanding cooperation in the field of the capital market.
Projects implemented by the Agency were discussed, including the introduction of a special legal regime “Regulatory Sandbox” in the field of the capital market, as well as the development of a draft Law “On the Capital Market”.
Representatives of Citigroup were particularly interested in the issue of regulation and further plans for the introduction of derivative instruments in the currency and securities markets.
Also, the guests were informed about a number of draft regulations being developed by the Agency, which are aimed at simplifying the mechanisms for attracting foreign capital to the local stock market. The delegation noted tangible results and real progress towards creating an enabling environment for global investment institutions.
Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand cooperation between the Agency and Citigroup in the field of the capital market.
