Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the National Agency for Prospective Projects of Uzbekistan (NAPP) with the executive director of JP Morgan Chase bank, Clemens Gerdenich.

Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Stock Exchange George Paresishvili took part in this meeting, the press service of NAPP said in a statement.

During the dialogue, issues of further development of cooperation between JP Morgan Chase Bank and authorized bodies and financial institutions of Uzbekistan were discussed. Representatives of the Agency emphasized the priorities for the development of the local stock market and announced the creation of a “regulatory sandbox” in the field of the capital market.

The executive director of JP Morgan Chase highly appreciated this initiative aimed at attracting the world’s leading investment institutions to Uzbekistan. Work was noted to attract leading global players such as Euroclear and Clearstream to the local market.

A representative of JP Morgan Chase expressed the interest of the company’s management in diversifying cooperation with Uzbekistan and emphasized the need to improve mechanisms for the withdrawal of funds by foreign investors to increase the attractiveness of the Uzbek stock market.

Following the meeting, the parties expressed their readiness to further expand and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation.
