A meeting takes polace with the leadership of the Hungarian OTP Bank

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov with the chairman of the Hungarian OTP Bank Sandor Csanyi.

Issues related to the investment activities of the Bank in Uzbekistan were discussed, bearing in mind the implementation of the previously signed agreement on the privatization of Ipoteka-Bank. The implementation of this transaction will attract foreign direct investment in the country's banking sector and will become an additional impetus for the development and transformation of this sector.

During the dialogue, the practical aspects and conditions of the agreement were substantively considered, the issues on the agenda were studied, and mutually acceptable solutions were developed that meet the interests of both parties. An agreement was reached on further actions to promote the privatization of Ipoteka-Bank by a Hungarian investor. A program for the further development of the bank based on international best practices and banking standards will also be developed.

The prospects for expanding the investment activities of other structures controlled by Sandor Csanyi in Uzbekistan were considered, bearing in mind, in particular, the implementation of projects in the agro-industrial sector and the introduction of Hungarian technologies in the field of agriculture, which will increase the competitiveness of domestic products and create opportunities for entering new promising export markets.

Also, Sandor Csanyi expressed interest in participating in the development of sports in Uzbekistan, including by investing in the creation of specialized sports academies.

As a result of the meeting, further steps were agreed to promote cooperation in the areas discussed.
