Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 May, a meeting was held between the First Deputy Minister of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan Ilkhom Norkulov and the Minister of Finance of Hungary Mihaly Varga.

The Hungarian Finance Minister praised the large-scale reforms aimed at modernizing the economy, improving the investment environment and improving the well-being of the population in Uzbekistan in recent years. He also expressed gratitude on behalf of the Hungarian government for the invitation to take part in the III Tashkent International Investment Forum.

During the conversation, the current state of bilateral relations and prospects for expanding cooperation between Uzbekistan and Hungary were discussed.

Particular attention was paid to the successful implementation of the Ipoteka Bank privatization project by the Hungarian OTP Bank, as well as the promotion of the project to create a poultry cluster in the Tashkent region together with the Hungarian company Bonafarm.

As a result of the meeting, the parties reached agreements on further deepening partnership in areas such as the green economy, development of small and medium-sized businesses, public financial management and education.
