Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 3 October, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade on issues of further improvement of the system of coordination and management of special economic zones in Uzbekistan.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Olimkhon Rustamov, regional coordinator of the International Finance Corporation’s advisory program to create new markets in Central Asia Tarik Shakhovich, and regional expert of the International Finance Corporation on free economic zones Craig Giese.

During the meeting, proposals were discussed to create a working group consisting of experts from the International Finance Corporation, representatives of ministries and departments in order to develop a draft new version of the Law on Special Economic Zones based on international experience.

Based on the results of the discussion, it was decided to include representatives of the Department for the Development of Special Economic Zones and the Legal Department of the Ministry in the working group.
