A meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the CIS Countries was held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of the Council for Youth Affairs of the member states of the Commonwealth of Independent States was held in Tashkent on 15-16 April, the press service of the CIS Executive Committee said.

The meeting was attended by representatives of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, basic organizations of the CIS member states for work with youth and the development of youth entrepreneurship, and the CIS Executive Committee.

Members of the Council discussed issues related to the state youth policy in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the implementation of the Action Plan for 2023–2024 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation and the Action Plan for holding the Year of Volunteerism in the Commonwealth of Independent States in 2024, summed up the results of the participation of delegations of the CIS countries in World Youth Festival.

The meeting also discussed the implementation of the International Project “Youth Capital of the CIS” in Tashkent in 2024 and preparations for its implementation in 2025 in the city of Gabala (Republic of Azerbaijan), the establishment of the annual Forum of Commonwealth Volunteers and giving it the status of a permanent platform of the CIS, organizations in 2024 national stage of the International Project of the CIS Member States “100 Ideas for the CIS”.

The Council generally approved the draft Action Plan for 2025–2026 for the implementation of the Strategy for International Youth Cooperation, draft regulations on the basic CIS organizations for the development of the (volunteer) volunteer movement and for scientific and methodological support of the youth volunteer movement. All three documents will be submitted in the prescribed manner for consideration by the Council of Foreign Ministers of the CIS.

Representatives of the Commonwealth countries noted the measures taken in Uzbekistan to create a system for studying and solving youth problems (the “Youth Notebook” project), as well as to create conditions for training young people in modern professions and increasing the number of young people studying foreign languages.

As part of the meeting program, its participants attended the opening ceremony in the city of Tashkent of the International Project “Youth Capital of the CIS”, met with participants in the Forum of Youth Public Organizations of the CIS Member States, and also got acquainted with the work of a number of youth facilities in Tashkent.
