Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Samarkand, on the eve of the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States, a working meeting was held between CIS Secretary General Sergei Lebedev and Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the agenda of the upcoming meeting and the preparations for it, and also exchanged views on promising areas for developing cooperation within the CIS.

Sergei Lebedev noted the high level of organization of the event, the warm welcome of delegations and the hospitality of Uzbekistan.

In turn, Bakhtiyor Saidov expressed deep satisfaction in connection with the start of the work of the CIS Observer Mission at the referendum on the draft Constitutional Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
