Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting of inter-parliamentary cooperation groups of Uzbekistan and Belarus was held.

The event, which took place on 30 March 2022, was attended by members of parliaments, staff members, representatives of ministries and departments, as well as the media of Uzbekistan and Belarus via videoconference.

The meeting was also attended by the heads and employees of the diplomatic missions of the two countries.

According to the agenda, the state and prospects of bilateral relations were discussed, proposals for the development of inter-parliamentary interaction, inter-regional cooperation, implementation of the agreements reached during bilateral meetings of the heads of the chambers of parliaments of the two countries were considered. An exchange of views took place on a number of planned joint events.

The parties stressed that the results achieved in bilateral cooperation, the development of inter-parliamentary dialogue, the establishment and strengthening of mutually beneficial trade, economic, political, legal, cultural and humanitarian ties fully meet the aspirations and interests of the peoples of the two countries, which are linked by friendship.

Readiness was expressed to continue building up inter-parliamentary partnership on a wide range of issues of mutual interest.

The meeting also considered the progress in the implementation of joint trade and investment projects included in the relevant road maps. Mutual interest and readiness for close cooperation in providing parliamentary assistance in their practical implementation was confirmed. In this context, the importance of holding the next Uzbek-Belarusian Forum of Regions under the auspices of the parliaments of the two countries was noted.

At the end of the talks, we agreed to continue fruitful contacts through the inter-parliamentary cooperation groups of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus on the effective implementation of the tasks set in the interests of the citizens of the two countries.
