Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In Zangiata district of Tashkent region, the director of a company was arrested, who attempted to illegally sell a plot of land for US$400,000, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs said.

According to information, the 39-year-old head of the Chirchik Shagal Saralash company tried to sell 260 hectares of land intended for grain and livestock farming. He stated that he has connections that will help with the process of obtaining the necessary documents.

Law enforcement agencies detained a citizen while receiving US$40,000.

In connection with this incident, a criminal case was opened under Part 4 of Article 168 of the Criminal Code (fraud on an especially large scale) and Part 3 of Article 211 (giving a bribe on an especially large scale) through Article 21 (intentional crime).
