Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A video message on the rape of a 13-year-old girl in Ellikkala district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan has been circulated on social networks. 

The Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of Karakalpakstan confirmed this message. It is noted that a citizen living in the Amirabad mahalla of Ellikkala district applied to the District Department of Internal Affairs on 30 August 2023 and asked to take legal action against Z.Sh., who raped his underage granddaughter by intimidation and use of force.

This case was studied on the spot by the prosecutor of the republic and on the basis of the conclusion of the forensic medical examination, the case materials collected during the preliminary investigation in relation to the suspect Z.Sh. a criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Art. 118 and part 4 of Art. 119 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, he was detained in a procedural manner.

"The prosecutor of the Republic of Karakalpakstan took control of the conduct of a full and impartial investigation," the prosecutor’s office of the Republic of Karakalpakstan said in a statement.
