Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate, the Law on Amendments to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the Radio Frequency Spectrum" was considered.

It was noted that in recent years, large-scale work has been carried out to expand coverage of mobile communications and mobile Internet, improve the quality of communication services provided in hard-to-reach and remote areas.

At the same time, the existing ban on the transfer by users of the radio frequency spectrum of the right to use their radio frequency spectrum to another person limits the possibilities for further effective use of the radio frequency spectrum. And this, in turn, is an obstacle to the development of telecommunications networks.

In addition, in order to further strengthen information security, as well as taking into account the ongoing administrative reforms in the country, it becomes necessary to make appropriate changes to the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan "On the radio frequency spectrum".

In this regard, this Law is amended to provide the right to users of the radio frequency spectrum to use the radio frequency spectrum assigned to them jointly with other users and to determine the procedure for its use, as well as the regulation of information security issues.

In addition, the names of state administration bodies reorganized as a result of administrative reforms are specified.

Also, in order to simplify the process of using electronic means, the procedure for obtaining a design permit is cancelled. It was noted that such amendments to the law are very important in the activities of users of the radio frequency spectrum and will be an important factor in improving the quality of communication services.

According to the senators, the adoption of this Law serves to further efficient use of the radio frequency spectrum, the development of telecommunications networks, as well as providing the population with better telecommunications services.

The law was approved by the senators.
