A judoka from Samarkand wins World Championship among military personnel

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The World Championship among military personnel is being held in the capital of France in the city of Paris from 28 October to 4 November. The national team of Uzbekistan also takes part in this tournament, which is being held for the 40th time.

A student of Samarkand State University, medalist of the 2021 World Championship, Asian champion in 2021 and bronze medalist of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics in judo Davlat Bobonov in the -90 kg weight category, defeated Brazilian Godoy De Macedoni in the decisive final fight. Davlat Bobonov defeated judokas from Austria, Russia and Slovakia before the final.

Our judokas under the leadership of Ulugbek Azizov and Tokhir Fayziev won 4 gold and 1 bronze medals following the results of single competitions and took first place in the team event. 

Diyora Keldiyorova (-52 kg), Dilshod Baratov (-60 kg), Davlat Bobonov (-90 kg) and Muzaffarbek Turaboyev (-100 kg) became world champions, and Shohrukh Bakhtierov (+100 kg) won a bronze medal.
