Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Decree "On creating additional conditions for the further development of tourism, culture, cultural heritage and sports" was adopted.
According to the Decree, until 1 January 2023, part of the costs of tourism entities and air carriers for charter flights from abroad to Uzbekistan will be covered from the State budget in the amount of US$10 for each foreign tourist (at least 5 nights), and in the winter period (from 20 November to 20 February) - in the amount of US$25.
From 1 May 2022, in order to support youth entrepreneurship, each initiator will be allocated grants in the amount of 50 million soums, up to a total of 10 billion soums.
In this case, grant funds are allocated:
to create a website that accepts online payments, participate in foreign tourism exhibitions and fairs;
subject to the organization of a tour from abroad to Uzbekistan for at least 200 tourists within 3 years.
The accrual and payment of the tourist (hotel) fee to the Tourism and Sports Support Fund has been suspended since September 1, 2021.
In this regard, from 1 February 2022 to 1 January 2023, additional funds in the amount of 2.5 billion soums will be allocated monthly from the State budget to the Fund.
These funds will be used for such purposes as the preparation and promotion of potential tourist sites and places in the regions for tourist visits.
The Decree also made changes to the procedure for paying for steps. In accordance with it, draws will now be held among citizens aged 18 years and older who have walked 10,000 or more steps in 1 day.
At the end of each month, valuable prizes will be drawn between citizens who have won coupons.
Previously, citizens who meet the above requirements were paid 3,000 soums a day.
