Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A free trade zone “Uzbekistan – Turkmenistan” will be created in Shovot district of Khorezm region of Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a resolution “On the creation of a free trade zone “Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan”.

According to the resolution, the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan free trade zone is being created to organize the infrastructure for storage, sorting, marketing, transportation of goods and other modern services.

Within the trade zone, services for receiving, storing and sorting products will be provided, and various services will be created, such as customs, tax, certification, phytosanitary, veterinary, banking, currency exchange, medical and others.

The sale of goods produced exclusively in Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan will be organized.

The customs regime “free customs zone” will operate in the zone, in which retail trade operations are permitted.

Citizens of foreign countries, as well as stateless persons located on the territory of Uzbekistan, will pass through a separate checkpoint.

Free movement of persons, vehicles and goods within the zone is provided. Buildings and structures in the zone will be provided to business entities on the basis of online auctions.
