Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A video conference was held in the conference hall of Surkhandarya region to discuss the draft law, directions and changes in fiscal policy next year, as well as indicators of the local budget of Surkhandarya region for 2021.

The seminar was attended by members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan, officials of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Committee, governors, deputies of regional, all districts and Termez city People’s Councils, regional and Termez city khokims and their deputies. The event was attended by heads of financial and tax departments of the city, as well as heads and officials of budget organizations, business entities operating in the region.

The meeting discussed the implementation of the instructions given at the video conference of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on October 19, 2020 and the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021."

At the meeting, members of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis, officials of the Ministry of Finance and the State Tax Committee gave insights into the main directions of fiscal policy in 2021, the specifics of budget revenue forecasting and expenditure planning.

At the meeting, it was noted that next year the local budgets of the region and the city of Termez will focus on forecasting revenues, continuing the pandemic in spending planning, taking into account the slowdown in global economic growth and the formation of sufficient reserves in local budgets.

It was noted that the revenues of the local budget of Surkhandarya region in 2021 are projected at 1 trillion 717 billion 522 million soums, and the share of direct taxes in the revenue forecast will be 49.6%, resource taxes - 19.2%.

In addition, 3 trillion 41 billion 482 million soums are planned to be financed in the local budget of Surkhandarya region for 2021.

It was noted that in order to ensure human health and social support during the pandemic, more than 2 trillion soums, or 65.8% of total expenditures, are planned for the social sphere and social support of the population.

At the video conference, deputies and local authorities presented their proposals on the draft law "On the State Budget of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2021."
