A delegation of Uzbekistan visits Kabul on a working visit

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 29 October, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khojaev met in Kabul with Deputy Prime Minister of Afghanistan Abdul Ghani Mullah Baradar. During the meeting, the vice-premiers discussed a number of topics related to the development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and Afghanistan.

In addition, an extended meeting was held in Kabul with the participation of ministries and departments of Uzbekistan and Afghanistan, where prospects for cooperation in trade, economic and other areas were discussed.

The Uzbek delegation was represented by the heads of the ministries of energy, water resources, mining and geology, agriculture, investment, industry and trade, transport, foreign affairs, as well as a number of other departments, industry agencies and associations of Uzbekistan.

Issues such as the implementation of the project for the construction of the Surkhan - Puli-Khumri power line, the restart and activation of the activities of trading houses of Uzbekistan in Kabul and Mazar-i-Sharif, the opening of a representative office of Uzbekistan Temir Yollari JSC in Afghanistan, as well as other issues related to with international cargo transportation, customs regulation and prospects for the study and development of mineral deposits.

As part of the visit of the Uzbek delegation to Kabul, an exhibition of national products produced in Uzbekistan was held, as well as B2B and G2B meetings with the participation of representatives of government agencies of the two countries and the business community took place.

As a result, trade export-import contracts and agreements worth US$1.18 billion were signed in the fields of agriculture, textile industry, transport and logistics, chemical industry, pharmaceuticals, construction materials, leather and footwear industry, and electrical industry.
