Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 5–7 November 2019, a delegation led by the director of the Scientific and Practical Center for the Implementation of Innovation Developments under the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shahobiddin Sharifov took part in the events of the Asia-Pacific Center for Transfer of Technology (APCTT) in Malaysia, the Foreign Ministry reported.
APCTT is a regional agency of the United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP) that specializes in technology transfer to small and medium-sized enterprises in the Asia-Pacific region.
According to the information of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, on 5 November, during the International Conference on New Technologies for Achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), its participants were acquainted with the measures being taken in the republic as part of the Action Strategy for the five priority areas of the country's development for 2017-2021, including the development of science and the introduction of innovative technologies.
The delegation of Uzbekistan also participated in the 15th meeting of APCTT on 6-7 November 2019 in Kuala Lumpur. During the event, representatives of the Ministry of Innovative Development of Uzbekistan made a presentation of the Strategy for Innovative Development of our country, including priorities in the field of development and implementation of nanotechnologies and artificial intelligence.
APCTT member countries were invited to the InnoWeek.uz Annual Innovation Week in October 2020.
As part of their stay in Malaysia, the Uzbek delegation also visited the Mimos Berhad Technology Park to familiarize themselves with its activities.
